Luca Pellegrino gave an oral presentation at the online NFFA-DI workshop “Growth of epitaxial thin films and multilayers by pulsed laser deposition, with real-time and in-situ monitoring of the process and post-deposition analyses” organized on 10 July 2024 by Alessia Sambri (Cnr-Spin).

The title of the talk was “Fabrication of suspended epitaxial oxide thin films for micro & nanoelectromechanical transducers”.

Results from the OXiNEMS project have been presented at the 19th International Workshop on Nanomechanical Sensing (NMC24) in Vienna, Austria on June 24-27, 2024. This year the workshop has been organized by Prof. Silvan Schmid from TU Wien.

Luca Pellegrino gave the talk A Hybrid Superconductor/Nanomechanical Magnetic Field Detector for Biomagnetism” and Nicola Manca presented the poster “Integration of High-TC Superconductor with High Q Factor Oxide Mechanical Resonators” and the poster "(La,Sr)MnO3 trampoline resonator for room-temperature bolometers".

The OXiNEMS project is officially over! However, we will continue to communicate the developments of our activities through social media and the website

Luca Pellegrino visited on 22.11.23 the Collaborative Research Centre CRC 1261 at the Faculty of Engineering of Kiel University and present the recent OXiNEMS results with a talk.

Giving a look into literature about magnetism, one may ask a question: Which comes first? The new naming of the phenomenon, or the use of an already existing word adapted in order to describe the phenomenon?

Enjoy the paper written by Grazia Biorci from CNR-IRCrES, where she analyses the term “magnetism” in the language and literature and gives some hints on how the linguistic transmission runs along two parallel paths, in balance between the progress of scientific knowledge and the specialization of its language.

This article has been inspired by a collaboration between Grazia Biorci and the OXiNEMS project in the framework of the 20th edition of the Genoa Science Festival for the exhibition “we are all magnetic”, dealing with magnetometers for consumer applications and biomagnetism. The OXiNEMS team acknowledge Grazia for her precious support!
